I Am Not “Joe”

The CanJoe Company began operating as a Tennessee licensed business officially on December 19, 1994. For a couple of years prior to becoming officially licensed, the instruments were being made and sold as kind of a hobby and some parts used in producing them were being provided by Herschel Brown. Herschel also built a bench jig and sent it as a Christmas gift that year which helped in the making and for assembling the instruments more efficiently. That custom built jig is still in use today. During that same time, my wife, Sissy, was dying from metastatic kidney cancer and the Christmas of that year was her last one. Twenty five canjoe instruments were assembled just before that Christmas and during the brief times that Sissy could be left alone, I went out to buy her medications, pay bills and pick up items we needed and also during that time, I carried those canjoe instruments with me. I sold all 25 of them for $12 each between that December 19th and Christmas day of that year. The cash from those sales paid for Sissy’s last Christmas dinner and a gift, a red & white striped night gown she asked for. It was soon after beginning the business that I also began entertaining her with canjoe music, mostly Christmas tunes at first. As I played and entertained her, on one specific day, she commented on how “good” I was getting on playing the instrument. As I joked in response that I would “someday play the Grand Ole Opry” on it, she smiled, stuck up her thumb and said, “Go for it ‘CanJoe*John’!”… that’s the moment that the name was given and from that time on I have been known by that name. Over the last several years we, as a society, have witnessed a dramatic increase in childhood depression, teenage suicide and school gun shootings. online pharmacy tadalafil If you feel that it is really hard to get erection then start using Kamagra today. cheap super viagra samples of levitra Next comes the pure Catuba Bark extract. The ‘star’ placed between the word “CanJoe” and my birth given name, “John” was put in because Sissy said to me that for all I did in caring for her, I was her “star”, her “hero”. All together it also became my trademark signature… CanJoe*John… and always with the star in it. That signature has now been signed on EVERY canjoe I’ve ever made (except the first 25). Over the many years, the name “CanJoe*John” became my identity. The public, all my friends, my family, and the music and business industries recognize and use this name as my identity. The name is now also legally used to sign contracts, endorse checks for deposit into the CanJoe Company bank account and the personally signed autograph identifies (TRADEMARKS) the AUTHENTIC canjoe instruments. Unfortunately impostors have come along in now making inferior quality knock off instruments that only remotely resemble CanJoe Company products and have even gone so far as to impose the identity by calling themselves “Canjo-Somebody”; with one specific individual who even goes so far as to “sign” his products using his illegal, unethical impostor identity to make the public believe that they are buying an authentic established product. Whenever anybody calls me by the name “Joe”, my immediate response has been and will always be, “my name is NOT Joe, I am either, ‘John’, ‘CanJoe’, or (more properly) known as ‘CanJoe*John’… but I’m NOT JOE“.

About CanJoe*John

CanJoe*John began making and marketing the authentic 'canjoe' instruments from their origin. Introduced to them by their creator, Herschel R. Brown, in the early 1990s, John, from the beginning, helped Herschel manufacture them in Herschel's shop. John relocated back to his home state of TN in 1993 and continued, initially with Herschel's direct assistance, to make and market them, establishing the licensed sole proprietorship, the CanJoe Company, in 1994. As a professional musician CanJoe*John became billed as the "world's most unique musician, playing the world's most unique musical instrument, the canjoe" (aka, canjo). Always with his own personal canjoe instrument in hand he was awarded the adult "2007 Male Bluegrass Instrumentalist of the Year" by the North American Country Music Association International (NACMAI), and now having the distinction of being the first and only canjoe picker to ever perform on the Grand Ole Opry, has literally taken the one-stringed thing to the outer limits! CanJoe*John is a master craftsman and artist who designs, creates and crafts these instruments as custom works of musical fine art for those who respect and require the best of the best, truly genuine, original one-stringed musical instruments.
